Understanding Auto Catalytic Converters

Dealing with auto catalytic converters, you probably have a good understanding about the
precious metal content that creates its value as scrap.
In this short “tip of the week” we present the different mechanisms of auto catalytic
converters:
TWCC (TWC) – three-way converter
FWCC (FWC) – four-way converter
DOC – diesel oxidation catalyst
SCR – selective catalytic reduction
NOx TRAP – nitrogen oxides trap / NOx storage and reduction (NSR) technology
DPF – diesel particulate filter
